Testimonials
Praise from the Middleborough Public Library
January 23, 2019 Last week, the Middleborough Public Library hosted author, playwright and published historian Carol Cohen for her "Afternoon with Eleanor Roosevelt" program.  During the first half, attendees met Roosevelt at her home, learned about her role as a human rights activist and inspected many primary sources that were a part of Roosevelt's personal and professional life.  Cohen's interactive presentation focused on Roosevelt after the death of her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, when she was living in Val Kill on her own  The first part of the program highlighted Cohen portraying Roosevelt while the second half featured a PowerPoint presentation about Roosevelt, her life and her work.
On a cold Tuesday afternoon, we drew a capacity crowd of 75 people who laughed, cheered and were moved by Cohen's portrayal of Roosevelt and the presentation on her life's work. The audience was seeded with questions prepared by Cohen that kept the conversation about Roosevelt flowing.  It was funny, educational, and inspiring.  Many left the event saying they were looking forward to learning more about Eleanor Roosevelt. Cohen arrived early, was thoroughly prepared, was a pleasure to work with.  I'd be happy to answer questions anyone has about the program, but highly recommend it for adult audiences.  “

“Carol Cohen, as Eleanor Roosevelt, was an absolute delight.  Her warm friendly interactive program was well received by the audience at the Holden Senior Center who identified with her immediately.  This was followed by slides and accompanying narration with many previously unknown facts about this great woman’s life. We heartily recommend Carol Cohen.”    Claire Nelson

"Just wanted to spread the word about a great program we had here at the Ventress Library on March 1 to observe Women's History Month. Academic
and historian Carol Cohen drew a crowd of over 70 people to a lively presentation that brought Eleanor to life. (She even enlisted me to play the part of Marge, Eleanor's housekeeper, for the portrayal part of the evening!)
